Simple Sun Breaths
the perfect intro to our workplace movement classes.
This breath flow is your perfect introduction to our workplace movement sessions. We get to stand up, stretch upwards into a serious “power pose”, loosen up the shoulders AND get some great oxygen flowing into the lungs.
This feels really great, trust us!
Take a deep breath in to your belly. Now let it out. You may notice a difference in how you feel already. Your breath is a powerful tool to ease stress and make you feel less anxious. We add in some movements to get energy flowing back into your shoulders and arms.
How To Do It:
Stand tall with feet firmly grounded arms hanging loosely at your sides.
Rotate palms outward + INHALE to sweep arms up overhead (think: self high five).
Flip your palms + EXHALE to sweep arms back down to your legs.
Move slowly to the rhythm of your deep breaths, paying attention to the position of your shoulders to ensure that they aren’t creeping up to your ears.
Start by aiming for equal time in your inhale breaths and exhale breaths, eventually increasing the length of your exhales so they double the lengths of your inhales.
